Ophthalmological Society Of Bangladesh

OSB, The Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh was developed by the Ophthalmologists of Bangladesh in 1972. The aim of the society is to work for the betterment of Ophthalmologists of Bangladesh as well as to work for the betterment of Ophthalmology in Bangladesh. For the betterment of the Ophthalmologists of Bangladesh OSB develops BFT, Benevolent Fund Trust for the members of the OSB. This fund is used for supporting the family of deceased members of OSB. Also OSB develops a member protection committee for the protection of member rights both legally and also socially. For the betterment of Ophthalmology OSB regularly organizes seminars and symposiums on different aspects of Ophthalmology in its regularly organized Annual Conferences and also in different parts of Dhaka and Bangladesh. Many world rebound Ophthalmologist contributed by offering valuable speeches in these seminars. and thus OSB work to keep our Ophthalmologists updated to current Ophthalmic knowledge. OSB regularly organizing training program for the Ophthalmologist to develop their surgical and clinical skills. To deal with the academic activities of OSB it develops an Academy of Ophthalmology. When ophthalmic services were not well developed in our country and communication was poor OSB regularly organizes Eye camps at remote corners of Bangladesh to fight against blindness.Now for the treatment of eye ailments of poor peoples of Bangladesh OSB has established an Eye Hospital The OSB Eye Hospital.
